Le Champlot Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Chardonnay

Needed to breathe to show its full potential.

Initially it was a little closed, but after it was given about an hour to breathe it really started showing. Good stuff.

2013

2012. Richer than expected but still with a nice briney tinge. Good balance and excellent acidity.

375ml. Past peak. Dark gold color. Honey and burnt caramel throughout the nose and palate. All that said, I enjoyed it! Probably more of a dessert wine at this point, but very nice for what it is.

Medium straw colour . Slightly toasty with ripe yellow fruits , peach , apricot then citrus peel, white flowers . On the palate quite rich and ripe but with good balance and intensity , lemon peel , apricot , white peach . Fresh acidity and quite a lot of grip , quite fruit forward but needs a little time to show a little more complexity and minerality

A great at aubin premier cru. Tasted as expected. Would buy again

A little too predictable. A good wine - but not a major surprise or must have.

A touch of oak, some lemon, nice acidity. Not overpowered by any of the aforementioned flavors. Perfect for me right now.

A delightfully balanced white burgundy. Another great recommendation from our friends at Rayr in Rockport, Maine.
