The solar vintage of 2009 was a great match for Chevillon as it adds more rich fruit expression and freshness to balance the (integrated) gamey elements and rusticity Chevillon can often display. There is excellent concentration, balance and intensity. Cassis, black cherries, sous bois, smoke and minerals. Saturating texture and depth on the midpalate before a long and harmonious finish. Wonderful.

Dec 13th, 2020It’s a delight. On the brighter side of ruby, the nose brings a new expression of fleshy cherry as it breathes, and the palate opens in a graceful - yet unmistakable- setting that reveals its home in Nuits St. Georges. The irony of it all is that the vineyard itself bears the name of “infertile land”.
Sampling from this incredible 1’er Cru, there seems to be absolutely ZERO indication of such ‘infertility’. Point. Wing made as concisely as possible: THIS is some fertile juice.

Feb 4th, 2018Solid but not exceptional, warm dark red fruit, mushroom, moss. Lacked oomph but certainly well made.
