Smells like a spiced pastry

Lively! Red stars dance across the tongue for only a meaty mingling moment, before the tannins start smacking every part of the mouth, up, down, left, right, Jab, Jab, Ka-pow! Those knock out tannins longer on and on.. and on..
Wish I had bought 2 bottles, this needs at least 5 years to relax those teen tannins.
I mean, don’t close your mouth for too long on these tannins, as they act like a vacuum and super glue. You’ll never get your jaws apart..

Smells of herbs and anise

Continuing on with the flavor profile of this wine, herbs and anise, and prune. Heavy bodied and well rounded, with sweet and savory engaged in a dance around the strapping tannins. Need to decant into 2 vessels if you can.
Super fun producer - great wines.

Wow.
A nose so complex, I can only pick out some aromas - cilantro, mint, horehound.
Great mouthfeel, more on the heavier side, fresh fruits, dried fruits, herbaceous lingering peppery acidity and fine tannins. Old world fruit that really shines. So good right now.

Big, rich, fleshy, and tacky. Smoky, ashy scents almost remind one of a Syrah from Walla Walla, but this is heavier than the typical wine from the Rocks. Elegance is not what this is about. But nicely done in its style.

A nod to the French, on this Independence Day, for had they not loaned us ships and arms, we would not have this United States of the America’s.

Peppered blackberry fills the nostrils, a medium bodied fruit roll up on a stick, spicy, bold, with backend lingering tannins. A nice wine for anything grilled with smoked alder and hickory chips.

@Delectable Wine - This is majority, if not 100%, Syrah. It’s not a Grenache blend.

I was skeptical. I usually don’t like Syrah from the Southern Rhône. It’s usually blocky and uninteresting. But this. Put this blind in a group of Saint Josephs and no one bats an eye. Cracked pepper, dark berry, granite, and pink grapefruit rind. So lively in the mouth. Clingy and stoney. Delicious.

Very dark purple color, nearly opaque, intense black fruit and red fruit aromas and flavors, excellent intensity and depth, biodynamic producer, long, lingering finish, my only real nit is it’s 15% ABV, and the alcohol is very evident in the finish, so kinda afraid to age it the 5+ additional years this bottle shows it should logically handle (slight score markdown to reflect this dilemma).

Lavender, floral, dried red cherry fruit, very complex aromatics, flavors of red cherry, some tannins, also the 15% ABV shows late (my only real nit), medium-long finish, solid Ventoux rouge!

Rich, full bodied Grenache Blend. Cert Bio. Higher Alcohol, med plus tannins. Lots of spice and black fruit.
