From mag. I was very nervous about this as the cork was partially pushed out and weirdly moist under the foil. But it was totally gorgeous—go figure. The wine is in a great place, high toned raspberry and cherry, sauvage and animalistic, herbal, mesquite, feral but composed and texturally resolved.

Jun 30th, 2021Indeed wild, full on fruit. Great depth, a good biodynamic for a change.

Feb 8th, 2020QPR is off the charts. Awesome wine. Best producer in Faugeres for sure, but maybe in all of Languedoc.

Tannins firm but playing a supporting role. A pleasure to follow the evolution over an hour or two. It’s officially fall weather here in NYC so thoughts are turning to southern France...

Unusual wine with lots to offer.

If garrigue were a perfume spiked with red fruits, licorice, spice and exotic flowers it would be how this wine smells. The palate is perfect, if anything a little young as the tannins are a tad firm, but not intrusive. A long, clean finish, purity comes to mind. #faugeres #barral
