L'Hermitage Syrah

2022, figgy, plum with undertones of bacon at first open. very elegant and soft on palate. beautiful. about 4 hrs later- decanted. change? more mineral, tannins are showing more now than at opening. dried fig, meaty. bolder fruit on back end of palate thru the finish. iron on finish. drinking great but more time would certainly be better.

07 is in a fabulous place, expressive, detailed and defined wafting layers of creme de cassis, camphor and violets with a vibrant and velvety palate with soft tannins and a long mineral inflicted finish. An absolute classic and an elegant rendition in 2007, and fully open for business!

Dark and pure. Gnarly fruit with great intensity. Savory and slightly wild but very sophisticated. Intense, with a long life ahead.

Still drinking well- I think this has hit its plateau; deep dark color with wonderful notes of Olive tapenade, blackberry and great acidity on the finish.

A producer that doesn’t have “bad” vintages. In magnum 🔥

Tiiiiiightly wound - revisit in a few years. Inky dark purple, winged wood, olive, spice. A baby.
