This wine is my baby doll. So soft and animal. She’s my girlfriend.

Very elegant, minimal animal and much more olive, leather, black pepper and tea. Rustic but showing finesse with the age.

Drinking really well right now (4/2018) savory meaty notes in perfect balance with black fruit flavors. medium tannins are seamlessly integrated. Medium acid. Go ahead and drink now and get some to hold. It’s Chave.

A brilliant vintage, and this kept getting better with time. The bouquet is an enticing confection of red berries, earth, cocoa, nutmeg and black pepper. On the palate you get a seamless combination of resolved tannins, gentle acidity, hearty yet seductively elegant flavors at the mid palate, marvelous grip, sweet cherries, blueberries and plums emerge on the still youthful, yet complex and deep finish that bespeaks the sheer appeal of this relatively unsung Chave, a stellar example of the genius of the domaine and terroir.
