The 1994 was initially a bit shy on the nose but after many hours in the decanter, it showed such amazing character. In fact, it shared some characteristics with a lightly peated single malt scotch, with light smoke, marmalade, honey, golden raspberry and wet stone. More of its character was unlocked with food. In this case, monkfish, sweet potato, leek, and winter truffle. Drink now through 2034+

Lovely poise. Fresh and lifted. Subtle but with great balance

Proof positive that great estates make good wine in off years--from a #magnum it was perfect to drink now.

Best Chave Blanc I've ever had. Had another 94 about 2 years ago and it wasn't this good. Really attacks the nose and mouth with a full arsenal of fruit and stony notes.

Lovely medium-aged Chave Blanc, but still too young in my opinion, needs 10 or more additional years of cellaring.
