Domaine Georges Vernay
Sainte-Agathe Côtes du Rhône Syrah
Côtes du Rhône, Southern Rhône, Rhône, France

A 100% Syrah from Condrieu, okay. Variable, but linear profile. One minute, red flowers and preserved brambled fruit. One minute, chiseled stone and subtle earth. One minute, savory herb and smokey cured meat. Missing the game and brined olive of most northern Rhone. It will be fun to revisit when more knitted together.

Syrah/Viognier blend from condrieu. Redolent black fruits, with predominant sous bois notes, and very delicate tannins.

Jan 8th, 2021A pretty aroma that remains on your nose while sipping, a ton of acid, and only 12.5 abv. What's not to like.

Dark garnet in color, nose of some earth & leather. After just a little air it was wonderful- on the lighter side for a Syrah. On the dry side, mildly acidic with medium tannins. Very smooth- a really nice wine.

Dark, purple core leading out to a magenta rim. Violets, raspberry liqueur, cracked pink peppercorn. Some toasty barrel character. Chill it down fire up the grill and enjoy.
