Jun 8th, 2025Paired with the second course of Brouillad aux Escargots and this was probably my second favorite wine of the night. This was a divine Chambolle-Musigny and defined by impeccable purity. This is one of those wines that reminds you of what Pinot Noir can be. It stops you. Not because of its power but it’s understated sexiness. A wine of elegance and unquestionable class.

Very good but just a touch less pretty and focused than the bottle I had a few months ago. The fruit seemed broader and the oak was less resolved. But for 68 euros on a restaurant wine list, I'm not complaining.

Spicy, decadent and lush, especially for Chambolle. Just about at the end of its drinking window. If you have any in your cellar: bottoms up!
