Domaine des Marrans
Beaujolais Blanc Chardonnay
The best Bojo Blanc being made. Big, ripe nose of apple, apple pie, pie crust, Bosc pear and lovely minerals. Confectinary after air. Palate is juicy, lean and energetic with such nice, clearly defined apple and pear fruit and great vim and vigor. Salty finish. Superb wine and finishes so mineral. Round yet incisive.

Mar 15th, 2022Pungent nose. Pear fruit, but with an intensely flinty minerality. Lusciously textured, it’s got loads of pure Chardonnay fruit and very clean stony minerality. Nice wine.

Nov 27th, 20192016 Burgundy... Do I need to say more? It's slamming good!
Nose is a saline solution with sweet green apple and light oyster shell.
Palate is incredible balanced acidity with Anjou pear and this ever lingering saline finish.
For certain, one of the best BoJo blancs to ever grace my glass!
Happy Valentine's Day 2019 to all.
24hr Update: Nose has subsided slightly, but the palate is going strong and picking up minor red fruit (strawberry) notes. I tend to pick up those red notes only in Chardonnay from Beaujolais, after about a day or two after opening, interesting.

Very nice. Perfectly ripe Chardonnay fruit and tons of crushed rock minerality. Soft and round, with good weight and intensity. Ideally, a skoche more acidity would be nice, but damn this is tasty.

1 person found it helpfulJul 4th, 2020Best bojo Blanc in the game hands down with apologies to JP Brun but this is on another level. Soaring nose of green apple, white flowers and sea salt. Gorgeous. Drop dead. Very aromatic. Deep and so so mineral with engaging complexity. The palate is so elegant and has really terrific length and there is exquisite purity here. Amazing depth and truly vibrant and defined fruit. This is utterly complete and is by far the best Bojo Blanc I’ve ever had. What a find.

1 person found it helpfulJan 16th, 2019Idiosyncratic Chardonnay with a lineup of notes that seem bizarrely out of box but come together in a wonderful way to form something I won't forget. No playbook for Chardonnay in Beaujolais.
This is extroverted and wavers between an artificial grapiness and blossoming florals, ripe orchard, citrus, and tropical fruits. Like Welch's grape soda or purple snow cones sitting there alongside the natural forms of green melon balls, fuzzy peach, soft apricot, and ginger.
Drank over three days and stayed consistent - the strangest mix I positively loved.

Pear, floral, very flinty And dry. Medium bodied with a pretty intense set of flavors on the palate.
