Very balanced Melon from Loire. Aromas of crush rock, musk, floral notes, and lychee. Very nice acidity and crisp finish.

Pop and pour on day one and this was killer. Day two was more uninspiring so it was disappointing for the wine being only five years old.

Very fruity and herbaceous Muscadet. And very interesting for just those reasons.

2012, Domaine de L'Ecu, Granit, Muscadet Sevre & Maine. I really like Muscadet and this one is very good. Drinks like a Chablis: a little tart apple, tons of acid and amazing minerality. Too bad it didn't sell in the shop.

Under Guy Bossard, Domaine de l'Ecu has held its place in the top echelon of Muscadet estates. Bossard vinifies and bottles based on sub-soil (Gneiss, Orthogneiss, and Granite). The wines are aged for 15-18 months on the lees, resulting in a textured, layered complexity that has come to define the unique style of the domaine.
