Slightly cloudy. Pure red fruit with dried strawberry and wild herbs. Delicate. Very pretty and ready now.

I had no idea that this would pair so well with pork loin. Rose pedals on the lips.

DRC Echezeaux 1999: started tight, but a few minutes of air brought black cherries and a silky texture to the fore – medium bodied, sweet fruit balanced by a pleasing tug of tannin. Years to go.

Tich yet elegant, this has gripit tannins and exotiskt spice, sweet red berries and autumn leaf flavors. Severe length, stunning.

1999 DRC Echezeaux. Drank side-by-side with the 1988 La Mission Haut Brion (which we decanted over 4 hours before serving) and it was a toss-up as to which we favored. Very different wines. The DRC was feminine, had more fruit (plum, dark cherry, cassis), and a refined elegance. It was the favorite early on. However, as the La Mission evolved, it became hard to decide which was the favorite.
