Shockingly youthful and vibrant for 20 year old wine. Acid is positively feisty. Time has not dimished the potency of this in the slightest, instead knitting the intense lemon and grapefruit together with toasted nuts and a smidge of leesy richness and marine elements recalling seashell and kelp. And yes a little SO2. Btw this stuff costs less than $20 a bottle—buy it, forget about it for a while

Stone and fresh, proper mineral. Green apple, chamomile plant, lemon and a touch of unripe fig. Lean and steely with just a faint, nice bit of chew.

I make a point of tasting a Pepiere at least once every summer. strong acid backbone, quince notes, lemon curd. Better on day 2, & seems to have more muscle & alcohol than past vintages,, but those are minor quibbles

For those that think only Cabernet or Pinot can rise to the very highest ranking, I say LOOK AWAY, LOOK AWAY! I have only one comment about this wine... " World Class"!

Pepiere is the Mark Jackson of the wine world. Assists the food reliably, year after year after year.

Every year this is the best wine in this price range. Especially the 2014 vintage.

A little on the oxidized side, but not too much, as it adds a little nutty roundness to the crisp saline mineral goodness. The oxidation became more muted and the fruit more vibrant with air. Good stuff.
