Riesling is the weapon of the future.
Blessedly under 14 degrees. Lovely blend of Morello cherry, sousbois, iron, dusty tannins, fresh acid, restrained wood. Served with dry-aged ribeye Florentine, canellini, salad of local lettuces. Did what Chianti should: wash down food, give idea of terroir (not ambition). Fresh and lively. Re-buy with conviction. Very good within context, good value, indeed. — 10 years ago
NR. Not a pristine bottle, but fun nonetheless. Re-buy? Sure. — 10 years ago

Of the list at Portland's East Ender. 2013. Stony, fresh, low alcohol. Real nice lunch wine. — 9 years ago
So young, but so happy. Re-buy! — 10 years ago
Reticent on both nose and palate for 1st hour. Both unfurl with air. Meat, black fruit, floral on nose. Expands in glass. Palate fills out: nice whack of salty earth, iron, meat, black cherry. Buoyed by ripe tannins and sneaky acidity. No hurry here, but a very satisfying 2006. Re-buy, enthusiastically. — 10 years ago
Nice weeknight Alsatian Riesling. Dry, medium body, good acid, decent minerality. Not hugely complex or cut, but quite tasty with assorted wursts and choucroute. Re-buy? Why not? — 9 years ago
Brief decant then enjoyed with a duck breast au poivre. Old school, un-spoofy Bordeaux. Still young, showing cassis, cedar, green olive, a touch of saddle leather. Missing toasty oak, gobs of any damn thing, fruit munitions, or any sort of jacked jelly donut bullshit. Glad this is still made. 1000 Points. Re-buy? Damn right! I'd hold and wait for it to resolve more. Oh yeah, listening to "Hunky Dory." Goes really well with 'Andy Warhol.' — 10 years ago
Too young, too oaky, not my style. Not flawed in any way. Not for me. Buy? No thanks. — 10 years ago
