Tasted over the course of five days alongside a great Monthélie and a fabulous old vines cru Bojo. On day five, I’d say this bright, cerise-scented, regal and composed Pinot carried the day. Like most Barmès Pinots over the years, there’s more than a hint of Chambolle. Impressive.

So damn good. All black cherry, freshness and pop. Proof that Alsace, Baden and the Pfalz are clear beneficiaries of the unintended consequences of global warming.

Amazingly Chambolle-like. From red clay/limestone of Hengst. Cinnamon, aniseed, floral. As fine as Alsace Pinot can be. #barmesbuecher#pinotnoir#alsace

Light red and rose color. Immediate nose with aromas of boysenberry and tawny port. The tannins are a bit dry and unrefined and the wine finishes with aromas of root vegetables (not unpleasant) such as red beets and swede.
