Pétalos Bierzo Mencía

Last bottle of the night, so short notes only. Thick silky texture with decent acidity. Floral, spicy, jammy, and a little meaty. Ample dusting of dark chocolate and licorice root shavings. I found it hard to drink this late in the night, but an okay drop nonetheless.

This was a bit different than previous bottles I've had. Kind of funky - don't really know what's going on here.

Dark earth, black cherry, cassis, and leather. Deep dark and mysterious.

Wasn't sure about any of the wines from Bierzos. We'll see how they'll develop over the next few years.

Serious, full throttle mencia at a great price.
