De Bortoli
Noble One Botrytis Sémillon
Guests over for Sunday lunch. No formal notes. Went down well with fresh strawberries and cream. The colour was like a dark burnished copper. An apricot note - not overly sweet which was good. The bottle size at 500ml was perfect. One of Australia’s best performed dessert styles on the Australian show circuit with numerous trophies and gold medals.

Aug 29th, 2022Lunch at home with friends on Saturday. Gives one an opportunity to open a Sauternes style which doesn’t happen often. The Noble One from de Bortoli is generally regarded as one of Australia’s finest Dessert style wines made from Semillon grapes effected by botrytis. A lovely apricot and honeycomb note with diminished acid.

Jun 27th, 20211/2 bottle. Toasted honeycomb, jasmine tea, caramel, overly poached pear, balancing acid and apricot jam on the finish. Yum!

Nov 8th, 2019Wifey detected aging, I didn’t. However, still a superb effort. Liquid candy augmented by herb notes. Pure decadence.

Nov 4th, 2019Vintage 2001 / I was surprised by the deep brown colour... as I drunk 2009 only a few months back with a nice golden colour. Will it be okay? I thought. Completely wrong. As the wine appears to be excellent. Smell with very prominent apricot. Great balance with subdued sweetness. I enjoyed this enormously. At restaurant Dôme in Anvers/Antwerpen.

May 4th, 2019A brilliant example of a dessert wine. Not heavy or coying, just excellent. Compliments my wife’s Twix bar dessert perfectly. God bless the convicts 😃

Not a big fan of the ridiculous US Government Warning but you just have to love the Australian way of consumer information:
Preservative (220) added
Anti-oxidant (300) added
Approx 3.1 standard drinks.
See that tells me everything I want to know....🙄..🤔
