A great dinner party red - not too easy to drink that you drink without really registering anything except “red wine” but not one you have to dry to decide whether you like or not. — a month ago

Dixons Creek Reserve Release Syrah 2010

Ultra stalky and peppery on the nose - like an Australian weed known as Stinking Roger”. Perhaps a little overdone on the whole bunch in the ferment. My wife loved it. Light to medium bodied on the palate - savoury peppery notes, very little berry fruits. Good length. I liked it but if you like full bodied ripe Barossa fruit bombs perhaps not for you. — 4 months ago

The color in the glass is a dead giveaway of the age of this sticky. Hints of charred oak and tobacco on the nose and palate, but overall, this is singing. Not overly sweet, but still presents a uncommon structure and density. — 2 months ago

@Ron R Yes Ron - Lakes Folly was legendary particularly when Dr Max Lake was making it. Such a good site even for the current winemaker I’m sure they still make great wine even though Max has passed. I met him once. He made a speech about pheromones in wine. A funny old bugger.
