Medium Ruby with youthful aromas of red fruits, oak and spice. On the palate, tart cherry and cranberry flavors with an array of baking spices, nutmeg and cinnamon, rounding out with some oak. Balanced with tannins and acidity, medium+ length finish ending with slight alcohol burn. Very good now but let this sit a bit. Tasting Sample.

I’m over #zinfandel I’ve really tried many with much hope and yet I’ve almost never been happily surprised. This is a lovely expression and yet it doesn’t do it for me. I prefer #garnacha from Spain.

When I drink a Cali Zinfandel, I want it to be exactly like this.

Starts a bit hot and sweet. Balanced out a bit after hours. Needs a hearty food pairing. So second night had it with Lamb Rogan Josh... nailed it.

Very ripe and jammy to me, a little tutti frutti. Beautiful ruby color. Overall a good wine but didn’t knock my socks off.

BBQ wine to the max! Whopping alcohol on the palate. Tannin, filling dryness, ripe cranberry, pepper and spice and everything nice. A bit hot.

For nearly 20 years Mike Dashe has been stealthily making some of California's most compelling Zinfandels out of his Oakland winery. Medium-bodied with intense dark fruit and exotic spice, this bottle proves why Zin is a longstanding BBQ pairing favorite.

I like to imagine that, if there were Zin in France, it might turn out something like this.

Spicy, dry, balanced, like a mouthful of seeds from straw, black, and ras berries - #notjammy. How #zinfandel can and I feel should always strive to be. Had this vintage 2 years ago with Mrs Dashe herself. It's become much more rustic and spicy with the extra age, and def a lot better than I remember it being. #maturewine #drycreekvalley

The plums are bright but they’re still kind of plummy. Very drinkable though, with just enough earthiness.
