It was a Daou kind of night with the Cab and the Pessimist.

Excited to try the newest vintage. Still early, but clearly already a solid cab.

Aged ten months in half French oak. Aromas are lovely and perfumed, blue and blackberry with Paso earth. The palate offers dark fruit with an earthy overlay, fabulous acidity and very firm tannins. It paired perfectly with lamb in a blueberry cab reduction with roasted veggies.

Dark berry, burnt espresso. Ok right out of the bottle, but worth decanting. Hard to beat for the price. Grill happy Cab.

Very ripe example of #cabernetsaugvinon from #pasoroblescab not bad for the price, but not great either.

Tastes of fig and blackberry. Slightly tannic. Ruby red in color. Enjoying some time off from work at an out of town conference. Obviously we are being treated very well! 😁

Fruit driven. Oak and depth were lacking.

Here is my Friday's Cabernet fix.

A nice color of dark ruby with a purplish rim.

Fruity nose of blueberries, cherries, plums, vanilla, oak, spices, espresso, licorice, earth, light alcohol, cloves, herbs, dark chocolates, vinaigrette and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, licorice, earth, spices, peppercorn, vanilla, leather and tobacco.

Nice length on the finish with fine grained tannins, tangy cranberries and spices.

This is a good Cabernet from Paso Robles. Well balanced with mild complexity. Spicy with a nice mouthfeel.

I had it almost a year ago and this time I really liked it. I guess it was just too young then.

Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (one hour).
A good sipping wine by the porch.

I paired it with a cheese plate, fruits and crackers.

14.2% alcohol by volume.
