Barolo Nebbiolo

Opened a few hours before our meal; no formal notes. This is the second time I’ve had the good fortune to drink the 2012 Barolo in the last two years and it remains a beauty in her prime with gorgeous red fruits, roses, hot metal, mushrooms and orange zest. Fabulous structure. Finish is long and saline. No sign of letting up anytime soon and looking back at my previous notes, I can't say there has been too much in the way of evolution either. Stunning pairing with Morgan Ranch filet. Grazie Tim!

Вино рубинового цвета с гранатовым краем. Ароматика спелой клубники, малины, ежевики, Роза и пионы, лёгкий тон ванили. Во вкусе те же цветы и ягоды дополняют оттенки чёрного чая и гвоздики. Приятная освежающая кислотность, достаточно заметные танины, но хорошо интегрированы в вино. Лёгкое элегантное тело.
В целом, это Элегантный вариант Бароло, сейчас им можно наслаждаться, но я бы подержала ещё, чтобы смягчить танины, привести в больший баланс.
А так, очень хорошо)

Medium ruby color with garnet ring. Medium+ intense aromas of ripe strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, roses, black tea leaves, peonies, wood, vanilla. Developing.
The wine is dry, Medium+ acidity, quite refreshing, medium+ tannins, medium alcohol, medium- body. Medium+ Intense flavor: strawberry, blackberry, roses, tea leaves, cloves, vanilla. Medium finish.
Very good. Drink now, but better to hold.

Showtime from the very first pour. Absolutely sensational aromatics with red cherry fruit, orange citrus, sandalwood, and roses. So much depth! On the palate, there is red fruits and porcini with a long and lovely, every so slightly saline finish. Gorgeous and now I want more…but this bottle was courtesy of a friend and I live in Nebraska where we don’t always get to have nice things. A fabulous pairing with duck frites and bison tartar.

Heard amazing things about Burlotto's wines, and look forward to trying the single vineyards. This is their $50 Barolo. Very light in appearance, and in texture. Blackberry and dark fruit. I will say that this has a fairly long finish for such a light wine

Great producer over average vintage. Needed time to open but beautiful juice and showed tart fruit, pepper spice and herbs. Savory finish.

A bit more loosely knit than the 2013 tried last week. Classic Barolo aromatics & weight. Approachable young and the structure & texture elevate some grilled chicken & risotto. Very nice.

Solid, with classic Barolo styling. Good fruit, nice acid support and tannic structure but approachable now. Enjoyable.
