Would be a solid blind, reads entry Rhone. Restrained concentration. Wild raspberry and black pepper. Grenache purity on the palate. Grenache often reads as “Zinfandel light” to me in terms of fruit forward/jamminess/abv. Syrah also stands its ground here. Slick packaging.

I love this. I haven’t *loved* a Southern Rhône in a while. These days, likely due to climate change, so many are blocky and clumsy. Not this one. Almost Burgundian. Succulent ripe fruit, sweet spice, crushed rocky gravel. The palate is exceptional, with depth and the transparency that we don’t seem to see anymore. Dark cherry, roasted herbs, a little iodine and crushed rock. Soft tannins and acids, but nice balance and length. I really like this.

Feb 18th, 20182013. Loads of character for $15. These are night 2 notes as night one it was kind of tight. A pile of crushed rocks smothering spicy blackberries and olives. That's the nose. Liquid rocks in the mouth. Very linear. Decent acids and good balance.
