Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir

Deep and intense. Mocha, black cherry, tangy almost grapefruit like note. Very dugat in terms of intensity and color. But great stuff

Dark plummy fruit. Sour cherry. Intense… very pure and mineral. Fantastic. Dense

There’s something slightly off with this. Not cork, maybe Brett? A certain tiger to the nose and Adour hard not toward the end of the mid palate. Far from enough to make this unsinkable but I suspect not a fully correct bottle. That aside very dark, brooding fruit. Some sour cherry and iron, bitter dark chocolate. Maybe the wine’s like that... hard to tell

Dark tawny color, mostly opaque. Bright bing cherry nose right away. Sappy and exotic. Also notes of sweet raspberries, dark moist earth, spice and a little menthol. Angular, huge in the mouth, has a sweetness yet very complex. Needed 5 hrs of air to really open up. Just starting to show secondary characteristics. Long life in front of it.

A black hole. Sucked all the light from the room. Super extracted and heavy for my taste but really good with duck sausage at Cafe Boulud.

Very generous wine, charred oak came through quite pronounced however. a beautiful and rich wine with a very 1990 feel. I am fond of the 93 over the 90. The Griotte is totally killer

Plump and on the denser side. The tannins are spirited but not drying.
