Tawny color. Not overly dark. Nice nose. Notes of black cherry, mocha, light tobacco and a hint of coffee. Very smooth and great mouth feel. Gave this 7 hours of air which was very much needed as this was closed and quiet at open. Everyone liked this.

Tired. Still good, but on a downward path.

OMG!! Wine Spectator Top 100 #1 wine in 1992, almost 30 years old & absolutely stunning..fresh fruit, velvety tannins & bright, fragrant bouquet. Drinking like 5 years old, even hour after open. We celebrated Father's Day belated & my father & I have enjoyed many top bottles (collectors) over 3 decades, we both think this could be the single best bottle ever! Bordeaux elegance, finesse & structure at half price of 1st Growths.

My first Pichon Baron. The cork was pristine. Dark ruby color. Bouquet of cassis and dark chocolate, full and beautifully balanced. Soft tannins and mild acidity. Full in the mouth, elegant and beautifully balanced. Long finish , of jammy cassis and cedar bark. Not powerful but long, velvety satisfying finish. The wine was at or near its peak.

Middle glass. So young and tannic, but nice to compare with the older vintages. Pichon Baron dinner.
