Baron de Pichon-Longueville Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend

The older vintages weren't huge hits tonight but we thoroughly enjoyed them as well.

2nd best was quite nice!

Trademark pencil lead complexity with a tinge of sour brett on the finish.

Oaky nose and heavy and plodding. Some cedar, some smoke, some leather. Seems one dimensional aromatically. Good freshness on the palate but some oak and not that interesting on the palate.

The Baron was in the house!

1995 Pichon-Longueville Pauillac. Still showing youth after almost 20 yrs! Tight with dark fruit aromas of cassis and black cherry with hints of mint and graphite. Quite firm and structured with a long velvety, earthy finish. #wine #sommelier #france #bordeaux

Seemed in between states for me. Think it has moved into the let it age stage.

Incredibly silky, cigar box and restrained prunes. Very fun.

Brett bomb. Muted fruit with all the saddle and band aid.

Nice aromatics, decent structure, leaner with tart berry finish
