Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend

1970 vintage. Top shoulder. Cork cumbled, so had to decant it straight away. Surprisingly good, with still a solid colour and lively taste. Abv.12%.

UGCB 1/27/23 Garrigue, bright red and blue fruit

Vintage 1983 | a bit small but certainly enough to enjoy, 39 years old, cedar, laurel, light colour, good balance. Paired with a braised veal cheek.

Blue and black ripe berries, pastries and sour green apples on the nose; mild, untannic, and fruit forward with medium acids and length and low complexity and overall mouthfeel.

Brain farted, ordered this instead of old standby Rollan de By. Oh well, this wasn’t terrible, not great either. Soft and plump, quite earthy, ripe, almost stewed. Turned band-aid by the end of the night.

Smokey, dark berry fruit, tannic with ash and coffee #SommCon 35% merlot

Bright acidity, but a bit thin. Tart strawberry and crushed stone. Easy and ready now #sommcon

Sublime. Beautifully integrated. BlackBerry, pepper and vanilla, wisp of smoke #médoc

Blackberries, mint, mid weight. Can't go wrong with a nice, everyday Bordeaux.

Knowledge of Bordeaux helped me pass the CSW exam today, unfortunately this one is not outstanding. Not bad though. Still a little tight. Good for price...
