Château Gloria
Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend
Closely comparable to the 2017... If I had to put my money down, I would opt for the 18. The nose and palate are comparable but the 18 shows more tannin and alcohol making it more age worthy.

Storms have been rolling through non-stop all day with tornado warnings one after another. It is time with a reprieve from the weather to open a 2018 Château Gloria Saint-Julien. This is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc.
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, graphite, violets, chocolate, oak and dark rich soil.
On the palate there is lush fruit of black cherry, blackberry, black currant, cassis, herbs and dark earth.
This is a full bodied wine with a smooth velvety mouthfeel with medium to medium + acidity and medium + smooth round tannins that move seamlessly to a long dark fruit pencil shavings finish. I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and as soon as these storms make there way through my weekend will be much better. Stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, aged in 40% new French oak, deep Ruby red with aromas of red and black fruits with oaky spice. On the palate flavors of black raspberry, currants and black cherry with licorice, toasty oak and tobacco. Fine lush tannins, long finish ending with fruit, oak and earthy tobacco spice. Drinking well now and will continue to develop!

Apr 8th, 20222018 vintage. Big cherry pie/cherry pop-tart nose plus a pinch of raspberry and mint. Light-medium/medium body. Baking chocolate, cocoa powder, kirsch liqueur, rhubarb, allspice, dust and vanilla bean. Oak slightly showy in the frontal palate but then dissipates in a shimmering dissolve. Tannins, while present, are not exactly what I’d call firm. Verry drinkable now and for the next dozen years or so. Past that? Could be drinking the skeleton.
