My continued quest to try as many 2022 Burgundies as possible.

On the nose, beautiful mid red berry w/ some darker fruits, bright red florals that are slightly withering.

Lovely, ripe, juicy strawberries, cherries, pomegranate, raspberries with tones of blueberries. Light dusty, dry top soils, dry twig, sagebrush, dry river stone, crushed, dry, limestone, some barrel shavings due to their 1/3 new oak use, understated red cola, baking soda, some light dry herbs, bright, red, dark & some blue forals, big acidity (maybe a bit too acidic) with a lovely fresh, elegant finish that lands a bit short. This doesn’t show a ton of depth now, but may in time.

Sadly, one of the most sour Chassagne rouge wines I’ve ever tasted... and this, from the stellar and ripe 2015 vintage. Something may have gone wrong during production with this effort. The typically lighter body is there but the fruit is missing compared to other producers. No need to buy this one unless you’re looking for austerity. Sadly this was no better on day 2 or day 3, so aging may not improve this wine. Not everyone in our group thought this wine was lacking.

Terrific under appreciated Chassagne Rouge, finesse and elegance, earth, black raspberry, strawberry jam, exotic spices, firm tannins.

I cooked Bouef Bourguignon with the ingredients I bought at the Beaune farmers market and picked this to go with it. This great Chassagne rouge had a beety, fully developed bouquet and quite nice texture. I feel like the 2004 vintage has a bad rap- I have not gone wrong sticking with good producers!

The old terroir obsession continues- with good chicken cooked with goat cheese and leftover risotto!

Garnet in color with some brown starting to form at the rim. Immediately menthol, violet and dark cherry on the nose with lovely decomposed bramble. When you decide to introduce the wine to your mouth you get mellow strawberry and cherry. The floral notes emanate from the mid palate and you get eucalyptus on the finish. Quite lovely from beginning to finish, never feeling like you are left alone. As you work through the glass you even develop some black tea flavors. Very complex wine which finishes as well as it starts.
