Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend

The 2016 Dauzac presents an impressive bouquet of intense black cherry and bilberry fruit, crushed stone and wilted violets; the oak here is very well integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and pliant in the mouth. The saline finish fans out with style. Very fine. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, August 2020)

Got one at TJ for $53. Medium body, dry, nice tannin and vibrant fruits.

Open this bottle too early. After letting it in the glass for more than a good hour it opened a whole bouquet of flavours. Absolutely gorgeous: red fruits, felt some mild roasted cocoa during drink, which turned after having it with a meal into a vanilla scent.

Nose: closed. Faint blackberry and rubber.

Palate: sweet blackberry. Tasty

Quite young.

Really interesting wine. Truffle comes through on the palate and cocoa both on the palate and nose. A good reminder for me to drink an old world wine once in a while.

Oak and black current rich aroma. Quite comfortable. Impressive! Taste is following the aroma. Just 30 min ready to drink. Unexpectedly good even in just 7 years vintage. It would be by good vintage, 2015 @1950, wine plus -, 220423-220429
