A perfect bottle, direct import from a Negotiate via K&L. It has seen only Chateau & Negotiate storage.

Love, love, love the style of 80’s Bordeaux. Especially, the very good 80’s vintages. The style at this age is just so good as is the 12.5 ABV.

The fruit is still very solid & fresh. Ruby; blackberries, plums, poached strawberries, black raspberries, raspberries & blueberries hues. Lead pencil for days, some light v/a-bandaid, used tobacco w/ ash, very used leather, dark spice, understated mushroom, baking spices- light nutmeg/clove, cinnamon, vanillin, dry, river stone, limestone, dark rich soil with dry leaves, mix of dry and fresh herbs, touch of mint, moist clay, withering & dry dark, red, flowers, rainfall acidity and a well balanced, nicely structured, softly tensioned, beautiful finish that lasts 90 seconds.

Paired with/ Allen Brothers Cover Ribs.

This was in perfect condition. Absolutely marvelous showing. Deep crimson color. Both red and black fruits on the nose with subtle graphite and tarry phenolics. This wine shows better than a lot of way more expensive 89 Bordeaux I’ve had recently. Shows what good provenance can do

Wow! An excellent value Medoc estate that shows its age in all the best ways. Mature nose of old leather, pipe tobacco, and cedar. Lush red cherry and richness on the palate.

Perfectly aged with some life left. Deep red in color, soily’ aromatics with dark black cherry plum and tobacco on the nose. Silky smooth on the palate. Subtle and elegant. Totally Bordeaux and a real beauty. Cork looked like it was 5 years old instead of 33

Drinking well but also craving more time in bottle. Didn’t stand up to its new world counterpart (‘14 Heitz Cabernet). Less aromatic but more tannic than the Heitz. Nearly equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with a splash of Petite Verdot. Has some thinking to do. Good but not great.

2016 vintage. Classic elegant Margaux-like. Should age well.
