Dec 20th, 2024This wine has a dark garnet color in the glass, with a bit of brick red around the edge. Dark fruit dominates the nose, with aromas of cherry, black cherry and plum. Notes of tar, anise and sage adorning the fruit. The palate offers a savory mix of minerals, spices and cedar. The acidity is brisk and the tannins are firm. A medium-length finish highlights the savory aspect of the wine. It is a very smooth sip considering the 15% alcohol.

Dec 30th, 2023Sweet spices, roses and dusty stone give way to rubbed sage and rosemary as the 2016 Brunello di Montalcino slowly evolves in the glass. This is pure elegance, silky-smooth and supple with a mineral tinge that adds a lovely depth to its black cherry fruit as brisk acidity adds a lovely tension. Saline minerals cascade throughout as a tinge of orange mingles with gritty tannins, and liquid stone notes linger through the long and staining finale. (Eric Guido, Vinous, December 2023)

Winner of tasting. Smooth, well integrated tannins. Grippy. Complex layered fruit.

Jun 21st, 2023Delicious. Starting to really come ‘round, the nose is dark cherry, loads of sandstone-rich gravel, dark spices. Concentrated flavors in the mouth. Quite a bit of tannin, but it’s quite soft, and the acids are pretty good for the year. So good now, this will be amazing in 5 years.

Feb 13th, 2022Ruby with full berry aromas and slight floral mineral spice notes. On the palate wild berry fruits with a central focus of fruit, spice integrated with fine grain tannins. Full body, long ending with cacao, espresso and mineral tang.
