Bright Ruby color with aromas of red berry fruits and earthy dried floral notes. On the palate flavors of sour cherry and cranberry with gentle spice, licorice and slightly smoky notes. Fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, spice and earthy character. Nice!

The 2019 Barbaresco is an attractive entry level offering. Floral and nicely lifted, with lovely inner sweetness, the 2019 is quite attractive today. I would give the tannins a year or two to soften. Otherwise, the 2019 is very nicely done. When it comes to a Barbaresco that is ready to go right now, this is pretty hard to beat. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, October 2022)

The 2017 Barbaresco is a terrific wine to drink now and over the next decade or so. Ample and creamy, the 2017 is so inviting. Sweet red cherry, crushed flowers, mint, cedar, rose petal and blood orange give the 2017 an exotic character that is so appealing. Another year or two in bottle will help the tannins soften. This is nicely done. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, October 2020)

I’m told this was made by Bruno Giacosa. Bright red fruit still. A little shrill with violets, dried cherry and rose. Very pretty

This barbaresco is very pretty in 2015. Floral punctuated by red fruit. Tea like tannins. Approachable but with decent sophistication.

Friday night and tonight's wine is the 2016 Castello di Neive Barbaresco. This wine is 100% Nebbiolo from Neive, Italy.

On the nose there is cherry, raspberry, strawberry, anise, rose and dry soil.

On the palate is cherry, raspberry, rose, spice, licorice, soft oak, clay pot and earth.

This wine is medium body with medium+ acidity and medium + to high mouth coating fine sandpaper tannins that leads into a long drying red fruit finish.

Let's all have a wonderful weekend, enjoy time with family and friends and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

I fancied a nice, simple and delicious Barbaresco and this was just that. Red fruits, roses and a touch of almond maybe. It’s an early drinker and quite pleasing.

Excellent value. Needed a few min to open up. Quite vibrant red fruit, softer tannins, herbal notes.
