Truly impressive for the price ($20). Black cherry, currant, plum skin, herbs, fennel, and coffee grounds. Air is very kind as this wine seems to have just entered its ideal drinking window and will have plenty of time here. Medium + acidity, tannin, and alcohol.

Fairly closed right now but with very fine complexity on the palate. Tobacco, anise and spice notes more dominant on the nose, but I love the overall shape and contour and the acid and tannin profile for the long term. Give it at least a couple of years if you want to see some real fruit.

Has entered a very reductive phase. Needed lots of time to open up.

I usually love this wine. Not my favorite vintage.

Needed time to open up. Not as impressive as what I would have expected...I was looking for a wine with tannins and acid but instead this was like a Pinot noir of Chianti.... smooth and discreet....

Open 4 hrs before drinking, new world style Sangiovese. Needs 2-3 years. 89+ now potential for 91.

Drinking beautifully… dark cherry, light spice, fruit forward with tannins dissipating after 15 minutes in the decanter. This remains a marvelous Chianti in the traditional style as Laura Bianchi continues the legacy of this great family of vintners.
