Rich with dark berries and plummy fruits, lots of licorice and hints of dried herbs. Not so intense, however, as to overpower salmon in a puttanesca sauce. Became fruitier next to the tomato sauce.

Nose is bright cherry, mushroom, cracked black pepper, smoke. Taste is nice dry fruit, smoked oak. balanced tannin. Good acidity.
