Smells of deliciously fine crafted cacao,

Hefty weight, a good mouthfeel, with saline, chocolate, green peor, tomato stalk, smoked herbs, citrus acidity.
Another absolutely lovely Carmenere from a@solid winery.

I much prefer the basic Casa Silva #Carmenere over this one. This is deep in color and ripe on the nose and palate, but it has gone too far into wanting to be super silky and super ripe. It has lost the texture and the terroir for me. I also don’t like the milky, creamy diacetyl/lactic finish. Good but not great. #chile #colchagua #colchaguavalley #cordillera

This is 100% Carménère grown at 1475 feet of elevation. The vines are 15 years of age and it spent 12 months in 80% oak. It’s quite nice. Especially, for $20. The nose shows; perfumed red florals, slightly candied; blackberries, black raspberries, strawberries, dark cherries, cherries & burnt rhubarb. There’s just the tiniest hint of pyrazines, dark chocolate, light minty character, touch of black pepper, leather, crushed rocks, dry stems, sticky tannins red florals and rich & ripe finish.

Saturday night and Love to have a Carmenere. I have opened the 2014 Casa Silva Los Lingues Vineyard Carmenere. The Colchagua Valley of Chile seem to have it going on. You have really got to like the green vegetal notes to really get into this wine and it just so happens I really like the green in my wines.

On the nose I have strawberry, red raspberry a kind of a saucy component, green bell pepper, green peppercorn, and a granite minerality.

The palate has GREEN BELL PEPPER whew in spades, red fruit with tart raspberry, tart red cherry, herbaceous notes, light oak that is well integrated.

This wine is medium bodied, medium + acidity with sweet refined tannins that leads to an enjoyable long finish. This wine has good balance that makes it a pleasure to drink. Have a safe and continued enjoyable weekend. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Dusty cellar nose.

This is a big and unique wine, with lovely jabs of cacao, green pepper, oil cured olives, cassis.
Delicious tannin and acidity, long and hefty.
A great wine, and a still undervalued grape.
