Saw an ‘08, so I grabbed it and wanted to see how it tasted. Founded by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and her husband Cyril de Bournet in 1994. The Marnier Lapostolle family are founders and owners of the world-renowned liqueur Grand Marnier. A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Carmenere, dark red almost purple with berry fruit and lively citrus notes. Raspberry and blackberry flavors with cacao and cedar tones, well balanced, full ripe tannins. Lingering finish ending with oak and fruit notes. Still tasting well!

One of my current favorites. Solid wine from start to finish. Dependable without being over-the-top big. Big enough though that it clearly improves with decanting. Modest price, fantastic value, solid wine. Makes me want to try this winemakers other varietals.

Another fantastic wine from Lapostolle. Dark and dense with blackberry, current, cola, and lots of graphite. Ripe tannins and plenty of dark fruit.

Deep garnet red with a super dark core. Nose was pretty mute, with only soft notes of dark prunes, dark cocoa and dust. Moderate tannins (6/10) and medium bodied. A little bit of dark fruit on the attack that thinned out quickly and turned a bit prueed. A nice amount of burnt leather and bitter dark cocoa. Another unusual finish that we cannot quite put our finger on. Medium plus finish. Drink now.

Dark purple with soft red and dark fruits. Not the most complex, but it's a solid wine.

Black and red fruits, medium body, and a reasonably long finish. Enjoyable with London broil.

2008 vintage. Not bad. Enjoyable enough for a weeknight quaf. Dark purple in color. Flavors of blackberry, cassis, and a bit of green pepper. Medium finish. Paired with leftover Magret Duck and Fava Beans, which went well.
