Black cherry, graphite, dusty... medium bodied. A bit rough in a good rustic way. Good stuff!

2015. A delicious reminder to drink more grenache. Floral, fruity, spicy, earthy. Complex and concentrated. Sleek and refreshing. 14.5% abv. $36.

Bold. Fruity: a cherry and red currant. Then: some leather. But the key is a licorice and pepper. The finish is very fresh and robust.

This wine is medium purple. It’s youthful and vibrant. It’s a beautiful Gigondas, Southern Rhône blend, comprised of 90% Grenache, 5% Mourvèdre, and 5% Clairette. Aromas and flavors of fresh, tart red and black fruits such as cherry, raspberry, plum, pomegranate, blackberry, also violet, pencil shavings, anise, crushed stone, and peat moss.

Les Pallières, Terrasse du Diable. Gigondas. Vintage 2015. ABV 14.5%.

Checking in on the 16 since the 17 showed so well. This has everything there, fresh layered fruit, texture & structure. This will be better on the second night, but it was hard to put down last night. Great stuff.

Dark fruited, powerful with a beautifully approachable palate weight. Fruit tells the story on the palate, but the nuance is in the nose here. Cracked pepper & savory aromatics. Excellent.
