Boen Wines
'Tri Appellation' Santa Barbara, Monterey, Sonoma County Pinot Noir
Here are my tasting notes for this wine. Visual:Good clarity with a hue of dark red almost black, with predominant legs
Nose: Hints of plum and raspberries
Body: medium body
Pallet: Baking spices, pepper, with a balanced finish
Pairing Notes: Enjoyable red wine that pairs well with a variety of foods like spicy cuisine and cheeses. Crab dip, bean dip, ghost pepper or jalapeño cheese, chicken, fish, and garlic bread, also pairs well with this wine unlike other red wines.

Sep 21st, 2021A tri-appellation Pinot, Böen is a reflection of Owner and Winemaker Joe Wagner’s agricultural roots as a lifelong grapegrower and winemaker. Clear straw with aromas of stone fruit with lemony and citrus nuances. From several vineyards, palate shows ripe peach, tropical fruits with some apricot and citrusy flavors. The wine shows some depth, good balance, crisp acidity, and finishes with creamy notes and some gentle spice. Very nice. Good value. Tasting Sample. Met Joe Wagner at a tasting in CT.

Ruby with blackberry fruit aromas and sweet spice notes. On the palate cherry & blackberry flavors with herb and vanilla oak notes, well balanced. Soft sweet tannins, lingering ending with fruit and spice notes. Very nice. Tasting Sample. Met Joe Wagner at a tasting in CT.

Jul 11th, 2024Deep ruby in color; black cherries, blackberries, oak, and a hint of chocolate on the nose; medium plus acidity; medium tannins; tastes like licorice, purple drink, and graphite with a long finish. Does not taste like a pinot noir. Drinkable, but not my favorite.
