Upon opening the nose was great... but the palette was muted and tight. It took until the third night to open up. And then the Lan was glorious Rioja! At ten years old there is no sign of maturity... and even at 3 nights the finish was clamping down. I’ll bury my other bottle and have the kids dig it up someday.

Beautiful ruby color with a hint of a brown rim. Ripe fruit (plums, figs, raisins) aromas and flavors with hints of caramel, vanilla, black pepper and smoke. Plush and defined (but not overbearing) tannins. Nicely balanced acidity.
