Bodegas Juan Gil
Jumilla Monastrell
Another grape I never tried before. Monastrell. Nice smooth wine, though it lacks a bit of depth and structure.

Nov 18th, 2019Deep purple color w/ ruby rim & thin watery edge. Clean nose w/ aromas of leather, black plums, licorice, and red currant. Medium acids. High tannins. Flavors were like the nose, although the mid palate was surprisingly smooth. Explosive finish with a very good complexity of dark & red fruits, along with some spice and charred wood. At $13.99 (Texas), I felt I found a bargain.
