Bodegas El Nido

Clio Jumilla Monastrell-Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2014

This is for you @Mike R
You said it right it is not as open and pleasing as it used to be. I thought time would improve on what it was but it seems to have lost that charm. It needs to be cool as the alcohol is noticeable otherwise. Still a good wine for BBQ.

12 Meses Silver Label Jumilla Monastrell 2017

This one deserves to be tasted with no food. Super round, well-balanced, fruity and rather tannic wine. It’s a truly mind blowing smooth and beautiful Monastrell. 👏 — 12 days ago

Tarima Monastrell

Nice and easy Monastrell. It gets as round as Tarima Hill, and is a fantastic choice if you are into enjoying value for money Alicante wines. Gets better with, and after food! It’s a clear 9.0! — 24 days ago

Tasty Mourvèdre from the Monarch July CSA — 2 days ago

Jumilla Monastrell 2017

Trap me in the Chopo House any time. 100% Monastrell — aka Mourvèdre to you Freedom Fries lovers out there — which is the fifth-most planted grape variety in Spain these days per Jancis Robinson et al (h/t @Brendan Devine). Medium-plus acidity, bright black and purple fruits, downright Montepulciano vibes. Definitely looking like a re-buy next time I cross state lines. — a month ago
