Excellent 100% #monastrell value from #jumilla DOP. Spiced dark berry compote nose, good concentration on the palate, surge of spicy fruit balanced by solid acidity and a grippy finish. Nifty QPR for ~$8.50 with volume discounts at Total Wine.

100 % Monastrell. Pretty color. Dark purple to maroon. Smells of violets and tart berries. Hint of smoke. Flavor is deep, dense and intense. Plenty of blue, black and dark red berries. Bit of anise, licorice. Some cherry coke. It’s dry. It’s tasty. It’s unique. Un vino muy bien hecho!

Really nice for the price ($9) Enjoyed it with a baked Brie and the smoky flavor complemented the creamy, buttery cheese.
