Deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits, floral and spice. On the palate strawberry and cherry flavors with notes of cacao and tobacco, firm tannins, medium finish ending with fruit and spice.

やまざきのセットにあったウルグアイの赤、2022年ものタナという品質らしい。マディランでよく使われるヤツなのね。通常価格はなかなか手の出ない3千円台半ば。こちら野島ワインもかなり濃ゆく、タンニンも豊富。甘味とのバランスも良い。一方で若さのせいか香りはさほど立たない。でも美味しくいただきました。寝かせたら大化けするのかな。

May 7th, 2025On the nose, this is frozen raspberry... On the palate, this tastes darker... Blackberry, cranberry... Tree bark, cedar, sawdust... Eucalyptus... Very mushy wood... Pretty big body here though... And the tannins are really contributing to that... Soft, chewy... Medium length with baking spice.

Had with our Uruguayan asado feast. Paired excellently with woodfired meats and vegetables. Wine stands up on its own too if you like jam forward oaky red wines. Aroma is barrel oak, vanilla, spice and dark fruit pie. Taste is a jammy blast of rich dark fruit, assertive tannin, and a lingering balance between the two to finish. Highly recommend this wine and would try more tannat wines!

Jul 16th, 2024Dark purple/black color. Aromas of dark black plum, rose petals and bramble berries and a bit of baking spice. Black cherry and plum lead the palate along with a balsamic vinegar/soy sauce component. Bright acidity and rigid tannins. Noticeable/screaming acidity. Building blocks are in place but this wine is just a baby. Needs more bottle age. Looking forward (Thanks James W.) to tasting this one again in a few years. Part of our Garzon Tannat Reserva vertical tasting.

The palate is more black fruit focused with additional hints of black licorice and a bit of pepper spice. Nice touch of vanilla on the long finish. Full bodied but austere. Creamy texture, well balanced and well integrated silky tannins. The best bottle from our Garzon Tannat Reserva five bottle vertical tasting.
