Barone Ricasoli
Colledilà Castello di Brolio Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Sangiovese
Started out quite promising, but ended up quite flat. I think it’s about three years gone. Was probably like a 93 or 94 before that.

Oct 25th, 2024100% Sangiovese, deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits and sweet spice notes, French oak aging. On the palate flavors of sweet black cherry and currants with tobacco and earthy floral tones. Fine ripe tannins, vivid acidity, well balanced, long finish ending with earthy mineral character, nice mouthfeel. Drinking well now and, will age well!

Mar 9th, 2023The wine is colored a medium-dark ruby red and features a rich nose of black cherry, cedar, mocha, vanilla and tobacco. The palate is hefty and dark, with flavors of cherry and currant joined by a dollop of licorice and some savory oak notes. The tannins are fine and the acidity is refreshing. There is a lingering sense of savory cherry on the lengthy finish. I paired this wine with a roasted tomato and parmesan focaccia bread, although it probably would have been better suited to accompany the marinara meatballs I had for lunch.

Mar 27th, 2021Went over to L&J's house and he just happened to have almost the same chianti as we had last night. But this vintage was fruitier and brighter than the 21. Or at least, fruitier and brighter than what was left of the 21 from last night.
