This wine from an exceptional vintage is showing really well right now. Elegant, high acidity with silky tannins and aroma and flavors of violet, plum, sour cherry, black cherry, leather, clove, wild thyme, and anise. Lovely long finish.

This has such a smooth polished feel to it with remarkably integrated tannins, but it almost disappears after drinking. I’m not sure how I feel about that. Perhaps it’s Mondavi owned roots have something to do with this affect.

A typical Chianti Classico, and it's a good one. Cherry and currant on the nose. The lovely tannins and dryness with that spicy touch. Is winegasm a word yet?
