So much more open and accessible than any Mouton’s I’ve had from either the 90’s or 00’s. Such a sleeper vintage! Silky, elegant, structured, great length, continued to evolve in the glass. Top notch Bordeaux.

Deep, dark reddish tawny center, showing very little age in the rims. Classic, older Bordeaux nose. Notes of cedar, tobacco and cut cigar, red fruits, wet forest floor, old saddle leather, some cassis and some crushed walnuts. Complex and took its time to unwind. Decanted for 8 hours before taking to dinner, and then consumed over 3+ hours. Still present acidity. This comes across as a young Bordeaux, with the quality of the juice very evident. It didn't blow our socks off tonight, but the quality and pedigree of this is easily identifiable.

Dark cherry, leather and rose pedal in the nose. Dust, graphite, marinated cherries and potpourri. Beautifully balanced fruit and acid. Just a touch of oxidation.

Also took seven hours for fruit to begin to show. Powerful. Notice the "RC" in place of a number. This is one bottle of a few cases of the Reserve Chateau bottles that mistakenly got released from this vintage. Typically these bottles are reserved for Chateau dinners and kept in their cellar there.

Absolutely love this wine. Tight upon opening. Gained texture and fruit after an hour decant. The nose is highly aromatic and stupidly complex. Began to deteriorate after five hours in a decanter.

Hands down the most exemplary showing from Bordeaux of my birth year vintage. First of all, a spectacular night spent with @Mike R and @David L at Somni in Beverly Hills for a transcendent foundation shaking 20 course meal that will linger in my memory for decades. Mike sourced this bottle in Raleigh from someone who purchased on release and it screamed provenance. I was blown away by this bottle. Delicious graphite and plum fragrance on pop, zero musty vibes, cloudy garnet in the glass but showing absolutely no loss of weight, gravitas or structure. Ample rich fruit, dusty mouth staining tannins and a full, silky, sexy finish. This was next level. Thank you @Mike R for this. It is without a doubt a benchmark wine for me.

👀 unreal. Still has it. Not faded at all. Vibrant, lush, funk, and fruit

I opened this in January to toast a passing friend and it is still in an excellent drinking window. This bottle from GQ shirt guy @Kirk Alexander was showing even better. Iron, earth, cherry tobacco and grainy rich tannings. Special.
