Last night I opened the 2015 Baer Star Merlot Stillwater Creek Vineyard Columbia Valley. A blend of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc.

On the nose there is black cherry, cherry, blackberry, plum, violet, chocolate, allspice and black pepper.

On the palate there is cherry, black cherry, blackberry, red currant, licorice, espresso, and chocolate.

This wine is medium to full bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and medium to + acidity with medium soft fine tannins that leads into a long black fruit finish. The weekend is fat approaching again and lets look forward to having a great weekend. Please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

76/24 Merlot, Cabernet Franc. Moderately pigmented red, floral, herb notes in nose, well balanced white pepper and red fruit flavors. Dry, slightly astringent finish. Not bad blend at all

Really like this Merlot-heavy blend. The 25% Cab Franc really adds some nice complexity to this blend.

Nice earthiness but still a little too sweet.

Fruit forward Columbia Valley Bordeaux-Style blend. (Primarily Merlot And Cab Franc). Violets, dried herbs and a touch of tobacco on the nose. Bright red fruits with a hint of pepper on the pallet. Dark red color and smooth tannins. Great pairing with a hot dog! Revisited in April 2020. Above notes still apply.

All Merlot. Great one to start the holiday week. Dark fruit, & firm tannins, drinks more like a Cab. Powerful and generous. This producer delivers consistently and this one shows that success.
