From a 375ml. Nice nose. Sweet, baking-spiced sappy black cherry, moist farmyard soil. Tighter in the mouth than the nose suggests, but not overly so, with drying cherryish fruit and crushed limestone minerality.

From 375 ml... Dusty cherry fruit, subtle barnyard notes, relatively clean. Palate is medium minus weight with fresh, crunchy cranberry and raspberry. Solid length with minerality to finish.

Refreshingly light with such a broad a devolver flavor profile. Young and fruity with the subtle age development that comes with excellent cellar work.

Intriguing Pinot from Burgundy. Mineral ripe dark fruit notes and nice earthy finish.

Classic Burgundian style. Lots of cherry at the front, but finishes with earth and mineral.

Amazingly well balanced between fruit and earthy flavors. Aromas of dried fruit and cedar. Great mouth feel and refined tannins.

The sommelier described this selection as fruit forward, but I respectfully disagree. I experienced more minerals than anything else, which seems consistent with the fact that this delicate tasting wine is grown directly in the limestone bedrock, with very little soil. Hints of pepper rounded out the flavors. Excellent! Paired well with langoustines and lamb.
