I was concerned that this 25-year-old might over the hill but no cause for that, after all. Dried cherries, leather, loam, and overall satisfying through the finish.

Big, burly, tannic, and sometimes monstrous / tons of spice, and many kinds, and a serious depth and richness all throughout the palate / black fruit, tobacco, smoke / drink 👏 with 👏 food

Superb well integrated, but pronounced, tannins. Special bottle brought back from the vineyard on our last trip and opened on New Year’s Eve! Delicious.

Lots going on here. Dense with black fruits and savory elements. Needed time to open up.

Horribly overoaked and unintegrated. Clashed with food. Modern internationalist style that just doesn’t cut it!

Still young but very impressive

I have always been a fan of this wine, but I feel most shun it because they don't understand what it is meant to be. You want fatty, game meat with this...not seafood. Nonetheless, I found myself elated when a couple sent this bottle back (despite them bringing it in and paying corkage...bad somm, bad!). The tannins STILL need time to soften, but the crayon-like minerality has passed, so I will finish this on my day off - which is Tuesday!

Drinking the 2000. Gamey, leather and cooked fruit but very dry and good acid. I approve ☺️

Power and grace. Guests loved this with strozzapreti/truffles/iberico ham.
