Pow! Cannonau! Wow. And whoa. This was my first Sardinian Grenache and it is memorable. Hated the first sip then realized I’d just eaten a slice of cucumber which, if they say asparagus is a hard to pair food, I’d say cucumber is worse. Palate cleaned I tried again and damn this is a complex journey of a wine. Roasted strawberry, pomegranate and juicy baked raspberry BUT then comes this big kick of earth and dust and...is that Parmesan cheese? And white pepper like religion. Actually this would pair very well with a robust pasta. Too bad I currently have an artichoke roasting...

Vintage 2015 / Do you know that feeling? After a hard days work you come home and put a red wine in the glass. In this case #cannonau (= grenache), you smell cherries and taste a spicy and comforting wine. Nothing special... but still, I am very happy with it. This red wine from #sardinia is certainly the best thing since sliced bread. With a hamburger and salad. Also very adequate with a fenugreek cheese.

Smoke, dried underbrush, cooked black fruit, leather, game. Nice revisit with a rustic Italian meal

Delicious profiles of herbs, rose petals, and cherry wood. Bright red cherries, tartness, licorice. Nice finish, slightly unbalanced though.

Fun wine for an early summer night. Black strawberry, dark cherry, loam, fines herbes, cola, cinnamon, licorice, with silky tannins, a full mouthfeel balanced by nervy acidity, and a long almost sappy finish. Nimble enough to pair with pan fried black bass and duck!

Best cannonau I've ever tried. Dark fruit. A bit unbalanced with overpowering alcohol and sharp acidity, but it keeps you coming back for another sip.

To me this wine over delivers for the price. Ripe and rich but great complexities as well. Black plums, roasted apricots, leather, thyme, smoke, crushed white peppercorns, black rocks. Palate is juicy and vivacious interplay between the acid and plush tannin. Despite its modern polish and dollop of oak it still maintains that rustic side I love in wines from Sardegna
