I love many of the modern day nebbioli, but tasting something like this shows how wonderful traditionally made nebbiolo can be. Extremely complex, showing licorice, sweet red cherries, eucalyptus and a bouquet of fall flowers. Serious fans of Nebbiolo should taste and marvel!

Garnet color with a little brick at the edge. Classic Ghemme earthy Neb nose. Dusty, a little barnyard, some warm gravel, and underneath it all some nice dried cherry fruit. Rich earthy macerated cherries in the mouth. Fair amount of tannin left. Like this a lot!

Enormous nose of dried flowers, kirschwasser, rosemary, marjoram, almonds. Big ripe cherries in the mouth, followed by tannic notes that show up as dried violets, olives, old oak, cigar box. Delicate. For the first 45 minutes it seemed as though it was dying quickly in the glass, rather than opening up, but after two hours it really started to sing. A beautiful Nebbiolo.
